Day 1 - Here we go!

Greetings!

Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day and finding your way to my little slice of the art world.

This site has been many months in the making as I learned new things involved in setting up an online/e-commerce site for my original artwork and prints. Don’t even get me started on setting up taxes…blech. But all was worth it as I turn my site’s virtual switch from OFF to ON.

At last!

This journey of course came with some sacrifices on time (so special thanks to my family and friends for all their continued support; and…gulp…. Money, as the process, comes hand in hand with trial and error. But a fun journey it has been, as I’ve been learning some cool tips and tricks along the way, developed some brand-new skills, and met some great people along the way.

Big shout out to Kristin Ragona from Rochester’s SCORE community, as she became my small business mentor and suffered a barrage of … you guessed it … tax questions with patience and class…and more patience. So thank you, Kristin, it is greatly appreciated!

I also had to learn how to take quality photos to develop Giclee archival prints (harder than painting each piece). This process is an artform all its own.

With this site, I hope to share my art journey with you as I continue to grow as an artist. I am super psyched to start this new chapter in my life, as I have found an absolute love for painting and hope to one day do this full-time (very near in the future, actually).

My creative mind is always seeking new outlets (kinda why I YouTubed my way to learning how to paint and eventually photograph paintings). I also took some online instruction for about a year from Michael James Smith, an amazing artist out of England. Two artists I also learned from during the past 5-6 years are Tim Gagnon from Maine, and Chuck Black from Montana. I learned so much from all of them, so a virtual thank you to them as well!

I am also currently completing a program through Voice Coaches, a studio out of Albany, NY that has done work with Netflix and Stranger Things, the Discovery Channel, and Nickelodeon to name a few. In March, I will be creating a demo to explore the voice over field (elearning/corporate training, audio books, commercials, etc.). Still an artist, just a voice over artist!

Stayed tuned as I share my progress in this as well!
